Ramen Season in Bonito

Bonito Kitchen & Cocktails is a restaurant that transports you to the most famous street food markets in the world, a gastronomic journey from Mexico to Japan that stops in Southeast Asia and brings with it the most authentic dishes of each country, a true fusion cuisine.

This fall we want to transport you to Japan but with one foot in China. We present you the Ramens:

It should be noted that ramen is not a purely Japanese dish; Rather, we are talking about fusion cuisine with China and its adaptation to different traditions.

The Japanese were adapting Chinese recipes that soon spread throughout the country. Local and street stalls selling ramen, appearing different varieties and specialties according to the regions. It started out as Shina-soba or Chuka-soba, “Chinese noodle soup”, but today the term ramen is fully extended and assimilated throughout the country.

The great characteristic that defines Japanese ramen, and that differentiates it from Chinese soup, is in the broth. We could say that it is the base, the soul of a good ramen, which defines the dish and marks its quality. Each chef brings his special touch and Bonito chefs takes the preparation of a really tasty and comforting broth very seriously, and its preparation requires dedicating time, without haste.

Broadly speaking, ramen is a bowl of wheat noodle soup prepared with a very aromatic broth and accompanied by different ingredients, which are added as toppings. It can be a hot or cold soup, with meat, fish or vegetarian, spicy or sweeter, there are even dry versions.

At Bonito we serve four different types of ramen: the Ebi Curry with breaded prawns and spicy red curry, Gyozas Miso with chicken gyosas and white miso, Low-temperature cheek Beef and Japanese-style lacquered chicken Puchi Tori, all of them served with Ajitsuke Tamago (eggs marinated in soy sauce, mirin and sake), bamboo tip, wakame seaweed, green onions and nori seaweed.
